Moon(ing)
We’re here again
and dizzy, running circles,
so busy clearing hurdles
we keep missing the purpose
of it all
Play our parts to perfection
yet we’re strangers in the dark
we slowly come apart
like echoes of the past
So lost, these halls all look the same
we can't keep up
Everything changes
and fades away too soon
and all the time I’m trapped and waiting
on the dark side of the moon
lost in the night
I’m out of sight
I can’t break through
as I am mooning over you
as I am mooning over you
And every time we wanted
to be somewhere else,
we left a piece behind,
unraveling these ties,
but they still find ways to bind us
So afraid, and yet unfrightened,
all the rage we cage inside,
our embrace long petrified by
every tempest we braved side
by side, man, these halls all look the same,
we can't keep up
Everything changes
gone before I catch the tune
and all the time I’m trapped and waiting
on the dark side of the moon
invisible
I’m out of view
I can’t break through
as I am mooning over you
as I am mooning over you
I feel your pull
I twist and fall
like times before
I lose it all
I can’t recall
why, but each time you’re close
I break some more
and I can’t cut loose,
guess I wouldn’t want to,
I rise on cue,
tides respond,
so why don’t you
just take your place in the sun
on the meadows,
while I’m out there trying to outrun
my own shadow
but I can't
And everything changes
gone before I catch the tune
and all the time I’m trapped and waiting
on the dark side of the moon
Everything changes
gone before I catch the tune
and all the time I’m trapped and waiting
on the dark side of the moon
invisible
left in limbo
I can’t break through
as I am mooning over you
as I am mooning over you
